Who Is Brock Meisenheimer?
It's always
good to know something about the professionals you choose to work with, and
this page will give you some insight into Brock's background.
From the
moment you meet Brock, you'll notice his easy manor and warm, friendly
personality. He works with quiet confidence and is direct, honest, and
always keeps your interests first and foremost in his mind. You will not see
from his external demeanor the conviction of his beliefs and tenacity in which
he represents his clients and their best interests.
"I was such
a good looking kid. What the heck happened!" |
Brock was
born and raised in a small community just outside of Grand Junction in
Western Colorado, called Palisade.
Palisade was
and is a rural area made up mostly of orchards, farming and small business
people. A community where everyone knows everyone and there are no secrets.
As children, Brock's four siblings (two sets of twins of which I am one, I have
a twin sister, and no, we are not identical, her beard is thicker than mine!!)
had tremendous freedom to experience the fantastic Colorado outdoor life
including horse back riding (we raised Shetland ponies) hunting, fishing,
camping, snow & water skiing, and hiking & biking at our leisure. We
grew up in a very active and athletic family.
As children
we learned the value of hard work, consistent effort, and the advantages of
being a competitor. Our parents taught us to respect others, treat everyone
fairly, keep your nose clean - so to speak, and one of the great lessons Brock
learned was that good news gets around and bad news travels fast (what goes
around comes around). Reputation, word of mouth, work ethic, and strong moral
values are extremely important. "The Golden Rule rules!"
Brock excelled in athletics, lettering in Football, Baseball and Wrestling in high school. He went on to Mesa State College in Grand Junction, where he put himself into college. He ultimately graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management. He kept active during college between a full school schedule, working part time, playing baseball, which included a year round practice schedule, and being a part time snow ski instructor during the winter.
"It
doesn't get better than this!" |
Any athletic
aspirations Brock had came to an abrupt halt on the baseball team's spring
break trip to Hawaii his senior year. A body surfing accident caused
temporary paralysis from the neck down. Although he was paralyzed for only a
brief period, the injury required a fusion of the top two cervical vertebrae in
his neck, which left him with permanent limited mobility.
"Ouch! My twin
Kadette."
Brock began his real estate career in Western Colorado in the spring of 1981. About the time he was starting, the mortgage interest rates sky rocketed and then in 1982 the bottom fell out of the real estate market in the entire Southwest along with the oil and energy industry. What a learning experience that was. Because of this experience, he learned early in his real estate career how to handle adversity, creative financing, in an extremely difficult market. After struggling for 3 years in Western Colorado, in 1984 he decided to make a change and move to a market that would be better for real estate. Brock and his new wife ended up moving to Montgomery County Maryland, just outside of Washington DC, where his wife grew up. Through nonstop and tireless effort with Coldwell Banker, in about 2 years he became one of the top producing agents, not only in his office but also in the Maryland, DC, and Northern Virginia area. When Re/Max opened an office in 1987 in Gaithersburg, he knew it was time to branch out with the premiere real estate company in the industry. By 1989 he became a member of the top producing RE/MAX 100% Club, which put him in the top 1% of all Realtors across the county.
